Preparation for Treatments
In preparation for your initial visit please download the New Patient Forms and fill them out prior to your arrival at the clinic. Also, please familiarize yourself with the clinic and its policies.

If possible, dress in loose fitting, comfortable clothing, and have a light meal an hour or two before the appointment. Since make-up, perfumes, scented deodorants and colognes could mask natural diagnostic signs, please make an effort to avoid wearing these substances.

Please download and fill out the forms found on the Home page. Then bring the completed forms with you to your clinic appointment.

Acupuncture
Originally, the acupoints were activated by heat or skin puncture. Today, technology provides the acupuncturist with variety of tools to stimulate these acupoints. Usually, very fine, flexible needles are gently inserted beneath the skin’s surface and manually manipulated. In other instances, when appropriate, applying a mild electric current (electroacupuncture), warming with a smoldering herb (moxibustion) or mineral lamp, applying suction (cupping), or scraping with a smooth edged tool (gua sha) may be included to stimulate the acupoints.

Initial Visit: The first visit is both a diagnostic and a treatment appointment and requires approximately 90 – 120 minutes. The patient’s completed history form will be reviewed, an examination performed, and a treatment given.

Subsequent Acupuncture Appointments: These visits last approximately 60 minutes.

Herbs/Essential Oils: After assessing the response to acupuncture therapy, herbs and/or essential oil recommendations may be suggested as a support measure.

Facial Renewal Acupuncture
Just as body acupuncture treatments can help people reach their optimal health, facial renewal acupuncture can help them to regain their optimal appearance. Unlike cosmetic surgery, or Botox injections, acupuncture yields results that are more natural and subtle. This technique combines acupuncture with other natural healing methods to help renew your facial skin and produce a general sense of well-being. Some expected benefits from this therapy are:

  • Tone facial muscles
  • Lift upper eyelids and reduce bags under eyes
  • Reduce fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improve circulation
  • Increase collagen formation
  • Enhance complexion
  • Moisten dry skin or reduce excessive oils as the condition dictates

Initial skin condition depends on multiple factors such as genetics, absolute aging, and relative aging (lifestyle habits i.e. smoking, excess sun exposure, etc.). The better the patient’s skin condition before beginning therapy, the fewer number of treatments he or she will need to achieve optimal results. For skin with minor damage, a minimum of 12 sessions is recommended. For patients with more distressed skin up to 20 sessions may be necessary to replenish skin vitality. Follow-up maintenance sessions are recommended every 4 – 6 weeks for 3 months. Appointment length will vary between 60 – 90 minutes.

Rain Drop Therapy
This is a noninvasive technique to promote healing within by using topically applied essential oils. Following the French model of aromatherapy, undiluted therapeutic grade essential oils are applied to the body. The standard technique uses two blends and seven single oils that are sequentially feather stroked along the spine and arch of the feet then sealed them in with moist warm towels. The oils assist the body at flushing out toxins in the tissues and return it to a state of balance. This protocol can be customized to target specific patient issues.

Because the therapeutic results are derived from molecules of the selected oil combinations penetrating deeply into the tissues and being absorbed by the body, a single treatment often has prolonged beneficial effects. However, each person is biochemically unique based on genetics and lifestyle, so the actual duration a treatment lasts may vary from several days to several months. Initially, repeated weekly applications may be necessary to correct imbalances. The frequency of treatment is guided by each individual’s body response to therapy. The first session requires about 90 minutes and entails an initial assessment in addition to the treatment. Subsequent sessions are approximately 60 minutes in length.
